Use it before it expires.
Point your phone at the date on any pack. Prexpire reads it, files it, and reminds you before the milk turns, the medicine lapses or the sunscreen stops working.
From a messy stamp
to a clear countdown.
Scroll, and watch Prexpire turn the dates printed on your shopping into one tidy list.
5 stamps → 5 countdowns ✓
Three steps. About five seconds.
No typing dates, no spreadsheets. Just point, save, and forget about it until it matters.
Point at the date.
Open the scanner and hold the pack in the frame. Prexpire reads the expiry date in a second or two, and the product from its barcode.
- Printed dates, labels and faint dot-matrix stamps
- Medicine codes (GS1 DataMatrix) give the exact date instantly
- Can't read it? Pick the date on the familiar iOS wheels
It files itself.
Every item lands in its category with a clear countdown: green when there is time, amber when it's close, red when it's gone.
- Food, medicine, household, skincare, pantry, or your own folders
- Search, filter and sort in a tap
- Opened it? Mark it, and the date moves to "use within 3 days"
You hear about it in time.
Reminders show what's due now, this week and later. Expiring items join your shopping list on their own, so you restock before you run out.
- Due now, this week and later, at a glance
- A warning period per category: 2 days for milk, 30 for medicine
- Automatic shopping list for what's running out
It reads the stamps
other scanners can't.
Cottage cheese lids, pet-food tins, chocolate wrappers: dates printed in tiny dots, slanted, on shiny surfaces, sometimes right on top of a batch code. Prexpire rebuilds the dots and reads the date anyway.

Even with the code row printed over the date.
Dozens of label languages and date styles from around 30 countries.
Less waste. Fewer surprises.
Everything Prexpire does is built around one goal: using what you have, before it's too late.
Barcode → product
The barcode names the product from open product databases and remembers it, so the next one is instant, even offline.
Exact medicine dates
The square DataMatrix code on medicine packs carries the expiry date itself. Scan it and the date is exact, no reading required.
Timely reminders
See what needs attention the moment you open the app, with a warning period you set per category.
Automatic shopping list
Expiring products add themselves to your list. Finish something and Prexpire asks if you want it again.
Your own categories
Pet food, baby, garage: make your own folders, pick an icon and colour, drag them into your order.
Waste stats
See how much you used in time and what expired, month by month and by category. Watch the waste go down.
Opened? Use within…
Mark an item as opened and its date becomes "use within 3 days", or whatever suits that category.
Backup & restore
Everything in one file you keep: save it to iCloud Drive or Files, restore it on a new phone.
Speaks your label
English, Romanian, Hebrew, German, French, Spanish and many more expiry labels and date styles.
Your kitchen stays yours.
The camera reads labels on your phone. Nothing you scan is uploaded, there is no account to create, and no ads. Prexpire works fully offline; it only goes online to look up a product's name from its barcode.
- No account, ever
- Scanning happens on the device
- Works fully offline
- Your data stays on your phone, backed up only where you choose
Good to know.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Scanning, reminders, your lists and everything else work offline. The only thing that uses the internet is looking up a product's name from its barcode, and Prexpire remembers every product you save, so the next scan of it works offline too.
Which dates can it read?
Printed dates in almost any style (day-first, month-first, year-first, month names, "EXP" and "best before" labels in many languages), faint dot-matrix and inkjet stamps, the coded dates some brands use, and the GS1 DataMatrix codes on medicine packs. When a stamp is truly unreadable, you set the date on the iOS wheels in two flicks.
Where is my data stored?
On your phone. There's no account and no Prexpire server holding your items. You can save a backup file to iCloud Drive or Files whenever you like, and restore it on another phone.
Is it only for food?
Not at all. Medicine, vitamins, skincare, sunscreen, household products, pet food: anything with a date. You can add your own categories too.
Which phones does it run on?
Prexpire is an iPhone app, coming soon to the App Store. You can already use it in your browser at app.prexpire.com.
