1Agreement
These terms apply to the Prexpire app and prexpire.com, provided by an individual developer living in Romania ("we", "us"). By using Prexpire you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2What Prexpire is
Prexpire lets you record products and their expiry dates, sorts them by what expires first, reminds you inside the app, and keeps a shopping list. You can add products by scanning or by hand. An optional account backs up your data and keeps it the same across your phones.
3Check the date on the pack
The scanner and product lookups are helpful but not perfect: a date can be misread, and product databases can be incomplete or wrong. Before saving, check what Prexpire read, and before eating, drinking or using something, check the date and condition of the product itself.
Prexpire doesn't give food-safety, medical or pharmaceutical advice. Follow the instructions on the packaging and, for medicine, your pharmacist or doctor. Reminders appear inside the app and depend on you opening it; don't rely on them alone for anything important.
4Your account
An account is optional. To create one you must be at least 16 and give an email address you can access. Keep your password private; you're responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings, Account, Delete account.
5Your content
What you add to Prexpire stays yours. If you have an account, you allow us to store and copy it only as needed to back it up and sync it to your phones.
6Acceptable use
- Don't try to access other people's accounts or data, or our systems beyond what the app offers.
- Don't disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its security checks.
- Don't use Prexpire for anything unlawful.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
7Availability and changes
The app works offline, but backup, sync, barcode lookups and sign-in need an internet connection and our providers. We work to keep them running but can't promise they'll always be available. We may change or discontinue features; if we stop the account service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can keep your data, which also stays on your phone.
8Third-party services
Product names come from third-party databases, and sign-in can use Apple or Google. Their own terms apply to them, and we aren't responsible for their content or availability.
9Intellectual property
The app, its design and the Prexpire name and logo belong to us. You may use the app for your own personal use; don't copy, resell or redistribute it.
10Liability
Prexpire is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses caused by relying on dates or information shown in the app, for spoiled or wasted products, or for interruptions of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
11Apple App Store
If you got Prexpire from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply. These terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and has no obligation to maintain it.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you live in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
13Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Prexpire afterwards, the new terms apply.
